Josefine

This multi award-winning short film, inspired by Franz Kafka’s short story ‘Josefine the Singer’ , is a Maestro Broadcasting production for Scottish Opera. Directed by filmmaker Antonia Bain and composed by Samuel Bordoli, with a libretto co-authored by the pair. The soundtrack features Zoe Drummond as Josefine, a chorus of Shoalsprites, and The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, conducted by Susannah Wapshott. 

The film has recently been nominated for both the European Short Awards in London (October 2025) and the Glasgow International Film Festival  (November 2025).
